keeping our heritage alive.
Pasta
Base is a new record label devoted exclusively to release
psychedelic and contemporary music from Peru, Chile, Argentina
and beyond. Although both, music lovers and record collectors
from all over the world have experienced Latin America’s
psychedelic from the 1960s and 1970s, different factors
as marginality, poverty and mental illness have affected
the diffusion of the new music beyond tiny, local and ephemeral
Latin scenes.
Different
from the past, the recordings of this music are not properly
released: few tapes and cdr’s are the lonely and fragile
evidence that documented the existence of several creative
outfits and open minds.
Pasta
Base is about respect. Is about to share this legacy with
the music world in the supreme format: vinyl. Limited editions
of selected cuts from this sublime and collective archive
will be posted to your pleasure and knowledge. No formal limits,
no predefine structures.
Just
to share with you the spirit of love. Pasta Base wants to
make this music and musicians visible for the world. The first
Pasta Base edition will be a compilation of the Chilean psychedelic
improv collective, La Bandas. Since 1993, La Bandas has offered
an obscure and never ending source of mutant creativity.
Encompassing
rock & roll, jazz, electronics and religious Chilean music,
La Bandas’ members (Diego, Salmon and Alvaro) have achieved
a unique approach to the sacred mantra.
For
their first international release, La Bandas have selected
jams recorded in different years, with diverse sound palettes.
